On May 6th 2010, Phoenix Radio Bali got a chance to meet the American Idol season 8 Finalist, Allison Iraheta who stopped by in Bali. Here’s the interview between Fenny Williams (f) and Allison Iraheta (a):
(f) Hi Allison, You look so pretty. How’s Bali?
(a) thank you. bali is hot! but it’s beeauuutiful
(f) Yeah, but too bad you just stay for one day here.
(a) Yeah, i have to go back tommorow.
(f) First of all, happy belated birthdaaayy. Well here’s a little gift from yours trully big Fan, her name is Dian, hope u like it coz she entrusted this to me and said like ”you HAVE to give this to Allison”
(a) Aaww, thaankk youu, that’s so sweet of u Dian. I didn’t expect it but thank you so much i really appreciate it, thank you..thank you!
(f) So Allison, how do you feel being a star, being known by everybody? How it feels like to beat thousands of people who auditioned for American Idol?
(a) Yeah of course..i’ve never imagine this. And feels like a bless. Especially people stand in line there just to do the audition. I felt a little bit “low” that time, because they also got a great voices.
(f) Did you still hang out with your American Idol friends?
(a) Yeaah, i still hang out with them, like with the big ten from my season..we do still contact each other, with Adam (Lambert), Kris (allen) and others.
(f) What’s the story behind your album, “Just Like You”?
(a) Well, the bottom line is, this album tells the story about our daily life, like “Scars” i mean, who doesn’t go through to that story? We all have made a mistakes and we all learn from our mistakes, right? And “Don’t Waste The Pretty”, to tell teenagers that they should have their self esteem and besides my friends helped me out with this album and they’re big names in music like Max Martin, David Bassett, etc. I’m very thankful that they want to help me out.
(f) Did you write any songs on this album?
(a) I don’t have the chance to write them all, since im doing Idol tour but i do co-wrote in a single “You Don’t Know Me” with David Bassett.
(f) I heard that you get along with Adam Lambert? Do you guys have the same interest?
(a) Yeah, we do get along like a lot, well the same like others actually, Kris too .. like that time when we still in Idol, Adam and Kris give me a lot of advices or which song should i do on the show. But, maybe i get along with Adam more because we both live in Los Angeles.
(f) I heard you will participate in Adam Lambert’s tour “Glamnation”. Can you tell us how’s the preparation going?
(a) Yeah, i can’t wait for that tour. Well, i’ll do couple of songs from my album, “Just Like You” such as “You Don’t Know Me”.
(f) Besides singing, you can play instrument too?
(a) I can play guitar. I played since i was a kid, when i grown up my mom told me to play piano too. But i think piano is not my thing. I sing “Don’t Speak” on American Idol with a guitar if you remember, but it was just once because after that i want to focus on my performance.
(f) What’s on your mind when you heard the word “High-School”?
(a) MEMORIES!
(f) What’s your opinion about “Teen-pop Scene”? And Justin Bieber phenomenon?
(a) I don’t have any problem with Justin’s popularity. I think he deserves all that.
(f) Can you tell us about Twitter Party? What is Twitter Party?
(a) Oh, maybe later in the night (6/05) or in the morning when i’m in airport (7/05) i will do a Twitter Party. So Twitter Party is where i can spend my time with my fans and they can ask anything there.
(f) Like a “Girl Talk” maybe?
(a) Anything. You can ask anything you want.
(f) Anything you want to say Allison, to our listeners or your big fan.
(a) Thank you so much for all of your support, hope u enjoy my music. Thank you and thanks for the gift to Dian!
